• Clothing (at least one complete change of clothing and footwear for each person)

• High protein dried foods like jerky, Slim Jims, food bars
• Instant Cold Packs
• Kling Bandages (assorted sizes)
• Large and medium frying pans
• Large and medium sauce pans
• Large aluminum bowl for washing people and pans
• Large stirring spoon, spatula, and cooking tongs
• Leather Gloves
• Liquid dishwashing detergent for pans and cloth items
• List of Emergency Phone Numbers plus land line and cell phone numbers for friends and family in town and out of town
• Measuring cup set
• Multivitamin tablets
• Non-electric can opener
• Paper and a Pen
• Plastic bucket with tight-fitting lid
• Powdered coffee and tea
• Proof of identity with photos such as expired drivers’ licenses or passports
• Rain gear for everyone
• Rice, dried pasta, Bisquick all in waterproof containers such as Tupperware brand
• Safety Pins (a large assortment including a quantity of very large pins)
• Salt and pepper
• Scissors (good sharp ones)
• Set of knife, fork, and spoon for each member
• Sewing kit including needles
• Sharp folding knife
• Signal mirror
• Sling or Triangular Bandages
• Soap bars (best is soap that is detergent-based like Zest because it works in all kinds of water)
• Sterile Dressing Pads (4x4s) and Larger Sizes (8x10s)
• Sterile Gauze
• Strong nylon twine such as “parachute cord” or “505 cord”
• Sturdy plastic drinking glasses for all (large mugs are best because they can double for hot drinks)
• Sturdy plastic plates and cereal bowls for all
• Sturdy shoes or work boots for each person
• Sugar in a waterproof container such as Tupperware brand
• Tarp at least 8 feet by 12 feet – larger is better like 12X15
• Terrycloth towels like bath towels and hand towels
• Thermometer
• Tissues in a waterproof container such as Tupperware brand
• Toilet paper in a waterproof container such as Tupperware brand
• Tweezers
• Waste Bags for contaminated items and trash
• Water purification tablets – plenty of them (household bleach can work in a pinch – 8 drops per gallon in clear water, 16 drops per gallon in cloudy water; shake or stir and allow to stand 30 minutes)
• Whistle
• Zipper-type Plastic Bags in quart and gallon sizes
